Tottenham ‘push hard to sign’ West Ham United’s dream transfer target
Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou remains under serious pressure but Spurs are already putting the groundwork in place for the summer transfer window.
The North London club have slipped to 15th in the Premier League, but remain in the Europa League, where they take on Frankfurt in the second leg of their quarter-final on Thursday 17 April.
Spurs also encountered disappointing FA Cup and Carabao Cup campaigns this term, so Postecoglou’s only way of retaining his job is via a Europa League triumph.

Tottenham rivalling West Ham to sign Angel Gomes
Tottenham’s 4-2 defeat to Wolves at Molineux on Sunday epitomised how poor their Premier League season has been, and the need for a successful summer transfer window.
According to Hammers News (16 April), West Ham’s dream summer signing is England midfielder Angel Gomes, whose contract with French Ligue 1 side Lille expires at the end of the season.

The Hammers have been negotiating with the 24-year-old, but as per the report, Tottenham are making it tough for Graham Potter and Co. amid their efforts to land the midfielder’s signature.
The report adds that Tottenham are “working hard” to get a deal in place for the soon-to-be free agent midfielder.
Lille are still in contention for a Champions League spot and sit fifth in Ligue 1, while Gomes has helped those efforts by notching one goal and one assist in 14 league appearances.

Gomes would be a great signing for Spurs
With Postecoglou set for the sack, unless he can guide the North Londoners to Europa League glory, Levy has set his sights on the potential appointments of Fulham boss Marco Silva, Brentford’s Thomas Frank, and Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola.
But whether the Australian stays with Tottenham or leaves, it is clear that Spurs must enjoy a successful summer transfer window in order to have a better season next term.
Gomes could be a real asset for the North London club thanks to his versatility, as he can ply his trade as a playmaker or as a deeper-lying midfielder.
The 24-year-old helped Lille secure Champions League football by creating eight assists in Ligue 1 last season, while he showed his quality when he was selected by former England interim boss Lee Carsley for the Three Lions squad in both October and November.
A move back to the Premier League for the former Manchester United man could bolster his chances of being selected by Thomas Tuchel, while Spurs should be eager to beat London rivals West Ham to Gomes’ signature.
