Tottenham transfer round-up: ‘Sensational’ Werner exit, plus £83m shock
Tottenham Hotspur are casting their net wide when it comes to providing Ange Postecoglou with reinforcements in the January transfer window.
The Australian remains under pressure to turn Spurs’ ailing Premier League form around and has been hunting defensive reinforcements to stem the flow of goals they’ve been conceding, with centre-backs Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero still on the sidelines.
However, that’s not the only area in which the Lilywhites are looking to strengthen before the transfer deadline on 3 Feburary, with plenty of attack-minded players linked despit heavy competition from a number of clubs in the Premier League and beyond.
Here, Tottenham News rounds up all the incoming and outgoing transfer news in North London from Tuesday, 14 January.
Tottenham table Randal Kolo Muani offer ahead of PSG decision
According to L’Equipe (14 January), the Lilywhites have launched a loan bid for PSG and France striker Randal Kolo Muani, offering to take the 26-year-old on loan for the rest of the season with an option to buy.
However, with Juventus and North London rivals Arsenal also in the frame to sign their out-of-favour frontman, PSG are playing the waiting game and will field all possible offers before making their decision.
Kolo Muani is also operating the same approach to a transfer in the winter window, leaving Spurs with a waiting game of their own as the days tick down.
Richard Rios popular as Tottenham look to break £83m deadlock
CaughtOffside also reported on 14 January that amid widespread interest from Spurs and other Premier League clubs, Palmeiras have already rejected one bid from North London for midfielder Richard Rios.
The Colombian international reportedly has an £83million release clause with the Brazilian Serie A side, but with Everton and Nottingham Forest also interested, the Lilywhites have a fight on their hands to pry the 24-year-old out of Sao Paulo.

Tottenham exit mooted for Timo Werner after Napoli developments
On the outgoings front, Gianluca Di Marzio has reported (14 January) that Spurs forward Timo Werner – currently on loan from RB Leipzig – could make a sensational move to Napoli before the 3 February deadline.
Werner has emerged as a surprise option for Napoli to sign Werner if and when their star forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia completes a protracted move from Paris Saint-German, with that transfer moving quickly.
The 28-year-old Germany forward has been on the end of criticism aplenty in a Lilywhites shirt so far this season, and despite a mid-season break of his loan deal from Leipzig looking unlikely, Spurs’ pursuit of Kolo Muani suggests Werner could indeed be replaced.
