Tottenham transfer round-up: Rashford hijack, late Chelsea swoop mooted

Tottenham have had an underwhelming winter transfer window so far and that continued on Saturday.

An injury to Radu Dragusin has brought a pressing need for a defender to the fore while the Lilywhites are also looking to expand their options in attack.

However, a potential deal for Mathys Tel was rejected by the Bayern Munich star yesterday (31 January) and the Lilywhites saw another move turned down on 1 February.

However, they are still looking to make signings as the deadline edges closer.

Tottenham urged to hijack Aston Villa Rashford deal

The Lilywhites have been urged to hijack Aston Villa’s move for Manchester United star Marcus Rashford.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King backed Spurs to swoop in ahead of their Premier League rivals to seal a deal.

He said: “Spurs need a player who knows where the back of the net is. Rashford can play through the middle, Spurs already have enough wingers. Therefore, Spurs could hijack Aston Villa’s move for Rashford.”

Tottenham make last-minute Chelsea swoop

According to TBR Football’s Graeme Bailey, Spurs have made an approach to sign Chelsea star Christopher Nkunku.

The journalist claimed on 1 February that the Lilywhites have made an enquiry about the former RB Leipzig ace’s availability as they look to bolster their attacking options.

The Blues are understood to be willing to allow the Frenchman to leave Stamford Bridge this month.

The Sky Italia journalist revealed that the AC Milan ace wishes to stay at the Serie A outfit and an update from Luca Bendoni, who works with Di Marzio claimed that the player is focusing on the upcoming Milan derby (2 February).
