Tottenham transfer round-up: Defensive target identified, £100m transfer blitz
Tottenham will be looking to strengthen their squad as the 3 February transfer deadline rapidly approaches.
As of now, Antonin Kinsky remains the only senior signing made by Spurs despite the evident need for reinforcements in other areas of the pitch.
Sunday’s shock defeat to Leicester City (26 January) highlighted those needs further, but if Spurs are to do business, time is running out.
Tottenham News rounds up the latest rumours surrounding transfer activity.
Tottenham identity fresh defensive target
Spurs have set their sights on Sutton United defender Jack Taylor [TBR, 26 January] with the 19-year-old impressing at non-league level.
While it may not be the type of signing to have the required impact at Tottenham this season, future-proofing is just as important as the present in some scenarios and Taylor would fit the bill for the former.
His displays for Sutton have attracted interest from several Premier League clubs with Spurs one of those to have had scouts watching his performances.
Tyler Dibling could join Tottenham in the summer
Having been linked with a move to Spurs [Florian Plettenberg], John Wenham has suggested that a move could happen in the summer.
The 18-year-old recently suffered an injury setback but it’s unlikely to hamper any transfer plans if they were to arise in the coming days.

Wenham told Tottenham News: “If there was an option to sign him now, I would do it.
“Even if a deal was expensive, I’d be happy with that. Spurs can pay the money now and Dibling would join the club in the summer. I think he is a genuine, Mikey Moore-level talent who is already playing in the Premier League.“
Spurs handed chance to sign Celtic forward
Kyogo Furuhashi has been turning up the heat in Scotland and according to TBR, he was offered to Tottenham during the window.
Spurs had the chance to sign the frontman as they step up their chase for attacking reinforcement but opted against the move to pursue other targets.
Furuhashi has impressed for Celtic with 13 league goal contributions but any move to Spurs is off the cards with the Japanese international having sealed a move to Stade Rennais.
Tottenham ‘ready £100m-plus transfer blitz’ before February deadline
Tottenham could easily spend over £100million on new transfers before the upcoming 3 February deadline, Dan Plumley says.
Spurs are said to be looking at several new signings as injuries rip through their squad, with a new forward said to be the priority (Lyall Thomas).
Plumley, a football finance expert, admits that Spurs have always been a club that can spend willingly, but the question remains if Daniel Levy actually will.
“Yes, ultimately,” he exclusively told Tottenham News when asked if they can spend over £100m over the next week.
“Spurs are one of those clubs that can spend if they want to, and we’ve always said that.
