Tottenham to sign ‘the next Cole Palmer’ as contract claim emerges

Tottenham are leading the way in the race to sign a player who has been likened to Chelsea’s Cole Palmer.

After what has been a rather dull campaign for Tottenham, the need for a big summer window has grown in importance.

Unless Spurs can find success through the Europa League, it appears as though it will be another trophyless season for Tottenham, and one that is also going to end without European qualification.

With that in mind, Spurs have already drawn up a list of potential summer targets, with it claimed that they are leading the race for one highly rated player.

Tottenham ‘favourites’ to sign Southampton star

The need for attacking reinforcements at Tottenham ahead of the new campaign is evident, and it appears as though they may have found the perfect option to remedy those needs.

Tyler Dibling is believed to have been on Tottenham’s radar for some time now, and according to a report from talkSPORT (4 March), Spurs are leading the way to sign him.

Southampton are keen on keeping their talent at the club, but the report adds that Dibling is “unhappy” with the latest offer received, and it is yet to be seen whether they are able to persuade him to stay with a new one.

Dibling has been their standout performer this campaign, which looks set to end in relegation, with Dion Dublin previously stating that “he plays his game like Cole Palmer” [Match of the Day].

Dibling move makes sense for Spurs

If Spurs are to progress, top-quality signings need to be made in the summer, and Dibling would be a perfect fit.

Not only would he have an immediate impact, but he also has years of development ahead of him to grow as a player, which will serve as a benefit for himself and the club.

Quite frankly, if Tottenham don’t move, another team will, and it could result in an all too familiar feeling of ‘what if’.

As for now, the focus will be on achieving as good a finish to the campaign as possible to take as much momentum into the new season.
