Tottenham ‘to receive £17m boost’ as midfielder exit to be made official in days
Daniel Levy is always looking to increase finances at Tottenham, with the Lilywhites set for another cash boost.
Tottenham supporters have often berated Levy for being overly preoccupied with balancing the books in North London.
With UEFA Champions League football on the agenda next season, it has been suggested that Spurs’ time would be better spent focusing on incomings rather than outgoings.
However, that doesn’t mean there won’t be some departures this summer.
Tottenham to receive £17million for Pierre-Emile Højbjerg
Pierre-Emile Højbjerg left Tottenham last summer for Marseille on a season-long loan, with the agreement including an obligation to make the transfer permanent.
The midfielder featured in 30 of the French club’s matches last season, netting three times in all competitions. Two of these goals were scored in Ligue 1 to help fire his club to the Champions League next season after a second-place finish.

As reported by Football London (29 June), Højbjerg will officially join Marseille on Tuesday (1 July) for £17million.
The Lilywhites could also pick up a pretty penny for their captain Son Heung-min, who could leave Tottenham. It has been widely reported that Saudi Arabian clubs are interested in the South Korean, but he could also be tempted to reunite with Jose Mourinho amid interest from Fernerbahçe.
Either way, Tottenham would collect enough from his transfer to put toward a replacement or other reinforcements.
Tottenham need to their attack in the transfer window
The days are ticking down until the summer transfer window closes for another year, and Tottenham are yet to bring in any fresh faces.
This has begun to worry Spurs supporters who have their hearts set on competing in the Champions League next season. To make a dent in the competition, Spurs will need to reinforce several positions.
Indeed, the left wing would need tending to if Son leaves, but there have been no concrete negotiations as of now. A backup for Pedro Porro is another signing the club needs to make, as well as more depth for the midfield.
Therefore, Tottenham will need to nail down their transfers soon to avoid another disappointing season.
