Tottenham ‘to move fast’ amid sensational Harry Gray news at Leeds United

Tottenham invested heavily in young talent Archie Gray last summer, and could be set to reunite him with his younger brother.

Gray has had a chaotic first season at Tottenham, as the youngster has impressed despite playing out of position in a struggling team.

The 19-year-old joined from Leeds United, who have just been promoted back to the Premier League following a 6-0 victory over Stoke City.

The victory was monumental for several reasons, and the debut of Gray’s younger brother Harry was a significant moment, with the 16-year-old making a long-awaited cameo appearance at Elland Road.

Spurs could now look to sign Harry Gray to reunite him with his sibling, and many even consider the younger brother to be the bigger talent.

Tottenham interested in Leeds starlet Harry Gray

It has been reported that Spurs are keen on signing Gray from Leeds, but they are not the only party interested in the teenager.

Sky pundit Don Goodman has now told Football League World (April 25) that a lot of clubs will be interested in Gray.

“Personally, I don’t think Spurs are going to be on their own when it comes to high-end clubs scouting Harry Gray,” he stated.

“The reports coming out of Elland Road are sensational, in that this could be a very special talent, maybe even more so than his brother Archie, which would be an incredible feat.”

With Gray only just breaking into the Leeds team, it has also been questioned whether Tottenham is the best place for his development now.

“At the moment though, it’s about playing football week in, week out and learning your trade,” Goodman added.

“I think if Spurs did sign him, you would imagine it would be possible that they would loan him back to Leeds or a team where he would play regular first team football.”

Tottenham will need to move fast to sign Harry Gray

Although Spurs have Archie Gray on their books, that is just about the only advantage they have over other potentially interested clubs.

It is still unclear who will be the Tottenham manager next season with Ange Postecoglou likely to depart, and there may not be European football on offer.

While Gray may be able to break into the Spurs team quicker than at other clubs, Spurs will need to move quickly to secure his signature.

If Spurs attempt to wait for Gray to gain more experience before signing him, they will likely lose out on any transfer, and they will have to make a move quickly if they are to recruit the talented teenager.

The younger Gray brother is a centre-forward, and the prospect of both playing together to develop into top-class players at Spurs is a mouth-watering one.
