Tottenham forget Morgan Gibbs-White as Man Utd approach made
Thomas Frank will be eager to refocus at Tottenham after the Morgan Gibbs-White saga.
Tottenham were already in limbo for over two weeks as they waited to find out whether their move for Gibbs-White would go through.
Spurs were eventually met with the announcement late on Saturday (26 July) that Evangelos Marinakis had embarrassed Daniel Levy by agreeing a new contract with the Nottingham Forest star.
This will have infuriated Frank, who has already lost precious time in the summer market and has led the Lilywhites to make a swift approach to Manchester United.
Tottenham approach Manchester United for Kobbie Mainoo
Tottenham have been linked with Kobbie Mainoo as Frank looks to reinforce his midfield options ahead of next season.
Mainoo has had a trying time at Manchester United since the arrival of Ruben Amorim, who has yet to settle on how best to utilise the England international within his strict system.

As reported by GiveMeSport (27 July), Spurs have now made contact with the Red Devils to enquire about a potential transfer for Mainoo.
Tottenham could capitalise on their financial advantage to sign the United academy graduate, who has less than two years remaining on his deal.
Frank is wary of the fact that neither Yves Bissouma nor Rodrigo Bentancur have signed a contract extension, meaning they could both leave next summer.
Spurs should not sign Mainoo
Mainoo is unquestionably a talented player, and at 20 years old, would fit Spurs’ recent strategy of signing young players with an eye to developing them at Hotspur Way.
However, the North Londoners require a more defensive-minded midfielder, whose primary skillset is breaking up opponents’ attacks and shielding the back line.
While Frank’s philosophy vastly differs from Amorim’s, he would still question why such a gifted homegrown player has not looked settled in the centre of the park.
Mainoo would be an exciting prospect for the Dane to work with, but with pressure firmly on the 51-year-old’s shoulders to compete on all four fronts next season, he may be better suited to sign a more proven player, such as Joao Palhinha.
