Tottenham star ‘trusts Levy’, he’s ready to sign new deal thanks to Paratici

Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici could be influential in keeping one key player at Tottenham.

Despite guiding Tottenham to the UEFA Europa League, Ange Postecoglou’s future remains uncertain.

Although the Australian ended the Lilywhites’ 17-year wait for a trophy, he also oversaw Spurs’ worst-ever Premier League campaign, which could lead to his demise. In addition, several players are also facing uncertain futures.

However, it looks as though one player could be convinced to commit his future to Tottenham.

Rorigo Bentancur ready to sign new deal at Tottenham

As reported by TBR Football (30 May), Bentancur is happy in North London and wants to extend his stay with Tottenham.

In addition, Spurs are also keen for the midfielder to sign a longer contract, with his current deal set to expire in June 2026.

Bentancur wants to know who the manager will be next season amid uncertainty over Postecoglou. However, the 27-year-old trusts Levy and is aware that Paratici’s return is imminent.

Paratici was the man who brought Bentancur to Tottenham, and the Italian was also keen to take the Uruguayan to AC Milan before his move to the San Siro broke down.

TBR Football’s report also states that Bentancur is a crucial part of the plans at Tottenham, with the Lilywhites viewing him as a potential captain in the future.

Tottenham would be wise to hold on to Bentancur

Tottenham are set for a summer of change, and Levy looks as though he will have his work cut out for him, especially with a decision on Postecoglou still to be made.

Bentancur is a key first-team player in North London, and Spurs cannot afford to let too many important players leave the club. However, with just a year left on his deal, Bentancur would need to be sold if he weren’t to sign a new contract.

As a result, agreeing fresh terms with the former Juventus ace seems like a wise move.
