Tottenham stance on Branthwaite emerges as Guehi makes transfer decision
Tottenham Hotspur could be in the market for several new additions this summer, particularly at the heart of their defence.
The North London outfit have endured a torrid season domestically, but their recent Europa League triumph has secured Champions League football next term.
That could open the door for Tottenham to turn their attention towards more ambitious targets , with Europe’s premier club competition typically a hugely attractive proposition for ambitious players.
They have suffered badly with injuries this season and with Radu Dragusin still sidelined with a long-term injury, centre back is an area of the squad that Spurs could be looking to strengthen in the summer window.

Tottenham weigh-up Jarrad Branthwaite move amid Marc Guehi doubts
Marc Guehi is believed to be uninterested in a move to Spurs despite the Lilywhites’ renewed interest at present, according to The Times (2 June).
Spurs tabled an offer for the Crystal Palace defender back in January but the 24-year-old seemingly remains unmoved by the possibility of a switch to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium,
Instead, the Times says the Europa League champions are considering Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite as a possible new addition to their backline this summer.
The left-sided centre half has played a crucial role in the impressive turnaorund overseen by David Moyes at Goodison Park and is seen as one of the country’s brightest centre back prospects.
Signing Branthwaite would be a signal of intent from Spurs
If Spurs were to capture Branthwaite, it would be one of their more impressive signings in recent years.
The 22-year-old has been superb for Everton again this season, and has picked up from where he left off in his breakthrough campaign last term.
His form over the last two seasons has seen him catch the eye of the international setup, having earned his first-ever senior England cap in a friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina last summer.
Now a firmly established Premier League defender, Branthwaite would be a statement signing for Spurs.
To capture a player who has been touted for moves to several other clubs in the upper reaches of the Premier League would send a clear message as to the direction that the N17 side want to go in next season.
Branthwaite’s performances suggest that he is ready to take the next step in his career by moving to a side who can offer European football, and if Spurs could entice him to make the switch, it would be the perfect alternative having seemingly lost out on Guehi.
The young defender is ready to come straight in and improve Spurs immediately, but when you also factor in the huge amount of potential he has, this could be a very exciting deal if the Lilywhites can get it over the line.
