Tottenham slap multi-million price tag on Lucas Bergvall after transfer reveal

Tottenham have placed a £43.9million price tag on Lucas Bergvall, according to FotbollDirekt.

The Swedish outlet revealed via their website on 27 January that Spurs beat competition from 23 clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona, to sign Bergvall in the summer.

They shelled out £8m to land the midfielder, who now earns £1.6m a year, from Djurgarden and have to pay them another £2.9m in add-ons.

Tottenham forced to sell Lucas Bergvall?

While FotbollDirekt shed light on Bergvall’s new price tag, they do not mention if there is any concrete interest in the Sweden international.

However, it would not be a surprise if a big club came calling if he continues performing well for the North London giants.

Although the 18-year-old is contracted to Tottenham until 2029, their current run of form under Ange Postecoglou weakens their position in retaining his services.

Bergvall can establish himself as a key player for Spurs for the years to come if they manage to improve their form.

It is worth noting that Postecoglou’s side are placed 15th in the Premier League after 23 games, sitting just eight points above the relegation zone.

Spurs’ hopes of qualifying for next season’s UEFA Champions League are quickly waning as they and fourth-placed Manchester City are separated by a whopping 17 points.

Bergvall, though, has been impressive for them, having started in each of their last four league games.
