Tottenham ready to sign Aleksandar Mitrovic amid Richarlison exit latest
Thomas Frank is keen to add a striker to his ranks at Tottenham this summer.
Frank had previously stated that he was happy with his attacking options at Spurs following the summer arrivals of Mathys Tel and Mohammed Kudus.
However, Richarlison’s performance against Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday (26 July) left the Dane wanting, while Dominic Solanke was ruled out of the game against Luton later that day due to injury.
The ensuing goalless draw at Kenilworth Road proved that Tottenham needed to prioritise a striker, and the Lilywhites have now looked to Al-Hilal.

Frank’s need to sign a striker is compounded by the fact that Richarlison is likely to leave Spurs this summer, with Palmeiras the latest to report an interest.
The Brazilian striker missed large portions of last season with recurrent muscular injuries, leading his colleague Solanke to be overworked and rushed back from his own fitness issues.
After seemingly missing out on Yoane Wissa, Spurs are now exploring a move for Aleksandar Mitrovic, as reported by CaughtOffside (27 July).

The prolific striker is also attracting the interest of Manchester United and former club Newcastle, with Al-Hilal expecting a fee of around £26million for the 30-year-old.
The powerful Serbian has continued his excellent goal-scoring record in the Saudi Pro League, and has plenty of Premier League experience from his days with the Magpies and Fulham.
Mitrovic would be a huge risk for Tottenham
On the surface, signing a striker with Mitrovic’s proficiency in front of goal would be a huge boost to Tottenham, with even Solanke guilty of underscoring last season.
However, the first issue Spurs would have to battle is his extraordinary wages at Al-Hilal, which are reportedly around double Son Heung-min’s.
Furthermore, Serbia’s record goalscorer is a bit of a throwback to a classic big centre-forward, and is unlikely to be able to lead a dynamic press or make runs in behind for Frank.
The Dane could utilise Mitrovic against certain opponents and in particular game states, and while this offers the 51-year-old variety in his approach, it could also be a huge risk, especially as he is likely past his physical peak.
