Tottenham ‘ready to beat Arsenal to Leroy Sane transfer’ after new terms
Tottenham could kickstart their preparation for the Champions League by signing Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane ahead of next season.
Sane is set to be a free agent as it stands amid a contract standoff between the attacker and Bayern, and this has handed Tottenham a golden opportunity to sign him.
Ange Postecoglou’s future in North London is uncertain, but given that Sane would arrive as a proven player, Spurs may not wait for their manager to be confirmed before pursuing a deal.
Several clubs, including Arsenal, are also interested, but Spurs have now seemingly pulled ahead in the race to sign the German.

Tottenham pull ahead in Sane transfer race
Tottenham are keen on Sane to strengthen their attacking ranks, and need extra depth on the wings following the departure of Timo Werner.
Bayern are also eager to keep the 29-year-old and have reportedly offered him a new contract to keep him in Munich.
However, Santi Aouna has now claimed that Tottenham are the “most serious” candidate for his signature from England, pulling ahead of Arsenal and other Premier League sides in the race to sign him.
Bayern Munich 2024/25 | Appearances | Goals | Assists | Minutes |
Leroy Sane | 45 | 13 | 6 | 2.377′ |
Bayern’s offer is an improved one from their last contract talks, but Sane is yet to make a decision over whether to stay or leave, and there is also interest from Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
Tottenham could benefit from Sane signing
If Spurs can secure Sane, they would be adding a vastly experienced winner who has performed at the highest level in the past.
With Tottenham qualifying for the Champions League, Sane would arrive as an attacker with a lot of experience in the competition, with 73 appearances and 42 goal contributions to his name.
Despite his age, Sane managed to score 11 goals in 30 Bundesliga appearances this season, and his ability to play on both wings would make him a very useful asset indeed.
If the Germany international can be convinced to return to the Premier League after his successful spell with Manchester City, then Tottenham should aim to beat the competition and sign him as a player who can slot straight into the starting XI.
