Tottenham present project to Mathys Tel agent amid direct transfer talks

Tottenham have presented their project to Mathys Tel and his agent with the promise of game time likely crucial in sealing his signature, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian transfer specialist shared via X (31 January) that Spurs have also had a direct meeting with Bayern Munich where a £50million transfer fee (€60million) was agreed.

The decision now lies in the hands of the 19-year-old, who is in talks with a number of clubs that are interested before taking his time to choose.

Tottenham want Mathys Tel

Ange Postecoglou is in need of urgent reinforcements at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this term and, as a highly rated youngster, it’s not a surprise that Tel has caught the eye after expressing his desire to leave Bayern Munich.

The winger has struggled to establish himself and get regular game time at his current club and after making 14 appearances in all competitions this term, it’s not a surprise to see him keen to get out and develop his career.

With this in mind, the Lilywhites trying to secure the signing by offering reassurance on playing minutes could play a big part when it comes to the 19-year-old making his decision as this was cited as a key factor behind his desire to leave.

Spurs will be hoping that this is a move that can pay off for them and with Dominic Solanke set for a period on the sidelines through injury, reinforcements are definitely required. They will just have to keep their fingers crossed that the project they sold is enough to tempt the young player that North London is the right destination.
