Tottenham prepare £30.6m bid as Sergio Reguilon replacement ready now
Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilon is out of contract at the end of the season.
Spurs are preparing for an important summer as they aim to strengthen the squad and avoid a repeat of the 2024-25 season which has seen them struggle throughout the year.
While Ange Postecoglou’s position remains under scrutiny, Spurs are not wasting time in evaluating targets for the summer transfer window and drawing up their shortlist of players.
With Reguilon set to depart at the end of the season, the North London club will be in the market to sign a new left-back.

Tottenham want Wolves star
Reguilon joined Spurs back in 2020 but has failed to nail a starting spot. In the first couple of seasons, the Spaniard did make regular appearances but since 2022, he spent the next two campaigns on loan at Atletico Madrid, Manchester United and Brentford.
Under Postecoglou, Reguilon has been a fringe player, making just five appearances so far. With his deal set to expire at the end of the season, Spurs will let him leave as a free agent and work has already begun to sign his replacement.
According to TheBoyHotspur, Wolves left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri is Tottenham’s primary transfer target, with the Lilywhites preparing a bid of £30.6 million to sign the Algeria international.
Competition | Matches | Goals | Assists |
Premier League | 28 | 3 | 5 |
FA Cup | 3 | 1 | 0 |
EFL Cup | 1 | 0 | 0 |
Wolves are aware of the interest in the market and will demand upwards of £42million for Ait-Nouri.
Tottenham have Destiny Udogie in their ranks but having adequate depth in the position is vital and Postecoglou feels that signing Ait-Nouri will encourage healthy competition for places.
The Algerian has been a mainstay in Wolves backline for a long time. Despite being 23, Ait-Nouri already has 148 appearances for Wolves after he joined the English side in 2020. This season, the 23-year-old has 28 Premier League appearances to his name, providing five assists and scoring three goals.
In the event of Spurs not succeeding in Ait-Nouri’s pursuit, they have lined up alternatives in Everton’s Vitaliy Mykolenko and Girona’s Miguel Gutierrez.

Spurs must make Ben Davies decision
Along with Reguilon, Ben Davies’ deal is also expiring at the season’s end. The Welshman is another defender who can deputise in the left-back role but is better at centre-back than playing on the left.
Davies hasn’t been a regular starter, making nine appearances in the league, but he is a reliable squad depth option to have, especially after all of these injuries.
His contract has an option of a one-year extension and while the Lilywhites are planning to trigger it, it hasn’t happened just yet.
