Tottenham on the verge of landing ‘massive upgrade’ as medical completed ahead of move
Tottenham are on the verge of securing the signature of a player who will provide their squad with a significant boost.
The Lilywhites have been working hard to get a few final deals done ahead of Monday night’s 7pm BST deadline, and they are now rapidly closing in on announcing their eighth new addition of the summer.
Xavi Simons was unveiled as a Tottenham player over the weekend, and it looks inevitable that he will be joined by another big-name arrival in the coming hours.
Thomas Frank’s side have added some quality options already this summer, but this could be the deal that takes them to the next level.

Kolo Muani completes medical as Spurs to get ‘massive upgrade’
Randal Kolo Muani has been undergoing a Tottenham medical this afternoon ahead of his season-long loan move from PSG, as the Lilywhites grow ever closer to hijacking Juventus’ previous bid to sign him.
The Frenchman is now understood to have completed his fitness checks ahead of the move to N17, after he was captured leaving his medical with Spurs’ technical director Johan Lange by the Sky Sports cameras.
The 26-year-old is an exciting addition for Frank and Co., given that he boasts ample experience and a strong goal record in several of Europe’s strongest leagues.
- Kolo Muani notched eight goals in 13 starts in Serie A last term
- He previously hit 26 goal contributions in the Bundesliga for Eintracht Frankfurt back in 2022/23
- PSG signed him for an initial £64.2million back in 2023
Tottenham have also been able to avoid a significant outlay to secure Kolo Muani’s services at this stage, with their agreement with PSG not including any obligation for them to buy him permanently as of yet.
TalkSPORT’s European football expert Andy Brassell believes he will be a huge addition for the North Londoners.
“For me, he’s a massive upgrade on what they’ve already got up front,” Brassell said on talkSPORT on 31 August (3:55pm).
“He was great in the second half of last season on loan at Juventus, and he’s not the only player who has not clicked at PSG.
“He’s a big-game player with impeccable intelligence. He’s a really smart centre forward who’s got physical power, and he’s quick.
“We’ve seen him really star for France too. I think this is a great get for Spurs.”

Thomas Frank will be satisfied with Tottenham window
Dominic Solanke’s injury setback is a blow for Spurs, but they will quickly forget about that if they can get their deal for Kolo Muani over the line in time.
The Lilywhites will have strengthened in all the key areas of the pitch if the deal gets done, and Frank will surely be delighted with the business that has been done.
They have landed cover for their injured stars, as well as strengthening in areas that were weak spots last time out.
When you consider the new contract for Cristian Romero alongside that, they couldn’t have really asked for a better summer window.
