Tottenham officials jet out on Moise Kean mission amid £43m transfer update

Tottenham officials have jetted out to Italy on a Moise Kean transfer mission just days after the window closed.

Ange Postecoglou had a busy winter transfer window as he added four new players to his ranks, including Yang Min-hyeok, whose arrival was agreed as early as last summer.

Antonin Kinsky, Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso were the other three signings as Spurs look to navigate through an injury crisis in the squad.

With Tottenham already knocked out of the EFL Cup and the FA Cup, the UEFA Europa League is Postecoglou’s only hope of winning a trophy with Tottenham this season.

However, it appears people behind the scenes are already looking forward to next season.

Tottenham target Moise Kean at Fiorentina

Tottenham are monitoring Kean’s situation at Fiorentina with “great result” ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Tuttosport.

The Turin-based newspaper reported via their website on Sunday (9 February) that Spurs officials are expected at the Serie A game between Inter Milan and Fiorentina at San Siro on Monday, 10 February.

Meanwhile, it has emerged that the centre-forward has a £43.3million release clause in his contract with La Viola, with the sum deemed “affordable and attractive” to Premier League clubs, including Spurs and Arsenal.

Moise Kean to return to Premier League?

It is worth noting that Kean previously had a stint in the Premier League with Everton.

The Italy international was on the Toffees’ books for four years between 2019 and 2023, but made just 39 appearances across all competitions for them.

He moved to PSG on loan a year after he arrived at Goodison Park and returned to Juventus on a two-year loan deal the year after.

The Bianconeri eventually made the move permanent in 2023, only to sell him to Fiorentina last year.

Kean, though, has hit the ground running in Florence, bagging 19 goals and two assists in 28 appearances across all competitions.

The 24-year-old’s performances this season have seen him attract interest from Arsenal and Tottenham, with the latter even sending officials to watch him in action.

Meanwhile, it would not be a surprise if Kean is tempted by the prospect of returning to the Premier League as he might want to prove a point after his failed spell at Everton.
