Tottenham miss out as sources speak out on Cardoso transfer agreement
Daniel Levy is not the most popular man at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with many supporters feeling there has been years of mismanagement.
The Spurs chief has been accused of not putting the necessary resources into the Tottenham squad, resulting in disappointment on the field.
This season was saved by a Europa League win, which guarantees Champions League football for next term, but that means the pressure is on to get things right this summer.

Tottenham to miss out in Johnny Cardoso deal
Coming into the transfer window, Tottenham were looking at Johnny Cardoso as a potential option for next season.
This came as a result of having a first-refusal clause from Real Betis after striking a deal when selling Giovani Lo Celso to the La Liga outfit last summer.
The Lilywhites had the option to buy Cardoso for £21million, but it has been reported that no deal will happen to bring him to England as he does not want a move to Tottenham.
Instead, Atletico Madrid is his preference.
Although it would be a blow to see Cardoso make the move elsewhere, Spurs were said to be getting a 20 per cent share of the profit if the midfielder was sold to a different club before the end of June.
However, according to Spanish outlet ABC Sevilla (31 May), that is no longer the case because a deal was not made directly with the player.
The report states, via sources in negotiations, that the pact is not valid as Cardoso had not agreed upon the move himself first.

Cardoso saga embarreses Levy once more
Although Spurs guaranteed a place in the Champions League next term, their Premier League form, which left them finishing 17th in the table, is clearly a sticky point for many.

Even if Cardoso didn’t want to make the move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, had a monetary deal been in place, it would have softened the blow.
However, should the Lilywhites fail to get anything from this rejection, then it will surely be an embarrassing reflection on Levy and the deals he makes.
Losing out on two counts is not an ideal situation for Spurs, and Levy will certainly have to be more shrewd going forward.
