Tottenham make move for Champions League winner who used to play for Arsenal

Thomas Frank remains in a dire situation at Tottenham and would love some attacking reinforcements before the end of the winter transfer window.

The North London side sit 14th in the Premier League table, and are now just eight points clear of the relegation zone with only two wins in their last 14 top-flight games.

Tottenham are faring much better in the Champions League, though, with their 2-0 win over Frankfurt securing them fourth place in the group phase and automatic qualification for the last 16.

It doesn’t change the fact that many Spurs fans are desperate to see the back of Frank, so the Dane will be eager to get a couple more signings through the door in the next few days

Tottenham enquire about Serge Gnabry

Tottenham have made two signings so far this month, bringing in Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid and Souza from Santos.

As of yet, Frank’s side has failed to address their issues further forward, though.

Cristian Romero and Micky Van de Ven are the second and third top scorers for Spurs this season across all competitions, highlighting their attacking problems.

However, according to Bayern Munich journalist Christian Falk, Tottenham have enquired about the availability of winger Serge Gnabry.

Speaking to Bild, Falk revealed that Spurs’ approach was immediately batted away, with Gnabry’s camp adamant that the German will not be leaving.

The 30-year-old is in talks with Bayern regarding a new contract, and negotiations are thought to be going smoothly.

Tottenham are getting desperate in transfer market

Gnabry won the Champions League with Bayern in 2020, but his career is clearly now on the decline, and he is not the player he once was.

The winger came through the Arsenal academy as a youngster, making 10 Premier League appearances for the senior side before joining Werder Bremen.

Tottenham’s interest in Gnabry clearly shows that they are getting desperate in the transfer market and are now well down their shortlist of options.

The former Arsenal man would do little to strengthen Spurs out wide, and the North London outfit must be setting their sights higher in order to improve.
