Tottenham make eight players available for transfer, five of them were in Asia

Tottenham have overseen the departures of several players already this summer in their efforts to rejig Thomas Frank’s squad.

Pierre-Emile Hojberg completed a permanent move to Marseille at the end of the season following his loan, while Sergio Reguilon, Fraser Forster, and Alfie Whiteman were allowed to leave the club at the end of their contracts.

Youngsters Mikey Moore and Alejo Veliz have departed Spurs on loan, with the former joining Scottish Premiership side Rangers.

And Spurs have now indicated their willingness to loan several more young players out, with consistent football seen as crucial for their development.

Luka Vuskovic among players to be loaned out

Spurs fans had hoped to see Luka Vuskovic in action under Frank this season.

The defender, who has spent two consecutive years on loan following his signing in 2023, has impressed in pre-season with his first minutes in a Tottenham shirt.

The 18-year-old got off the mark with a goal and an assist against League One side Reading and has looked solid in his subsequent appearances.

But a potential loan that would see Vuskovic join a Bundesliga side has been mooted, with several more senior centre-backs likely to limit the Croatian’s minutes.

Spurs’ willingness to loan the defender out has now been reported by Alasdair Gold (4 August), who shared that Vuskovic is among eight players who have been made available for loan by Tottenham.

Jamie Donley, Will Lankshear, George Abbott, Yang Min-hyeok, Tyrese Hall, Alfie Devine, and Dane Scarlett are the other players Frank is prepared to let go temporarily.

Five of those players were present in the Tottenham squad for the Lilywhites’ pre-season tour of Asia, which presented Frank with a good opportunity to survey his options.

Experience key for Frank’s first season

Frank will not be unclear about the volatility of the situation he has adopted by taking charge at Spurs.

Last season, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium witnessed the club’s worst-ever finish in the Premier League era – an unmitigated disaster, despite success in the UEFA Europa League.

As a result, returning stability within the league will be a key aim for Frank, with the Dane likely to rely on his more experienced players to steady the ship.

The signing of Joao Palhinha on loan from Bayern Munich works to support that narrative, with the 30-year-old bringing plenty of Premier League grit in midfield.
