Tottenham influential figures ‘want Bissouma sold’ as replacement already named

Yves Bissouma has found his head on the chopping block as Ange Postecoglou has already started looking ahead to the summer transfer window.

With the midfielder set to enter the final 12 months of his contract, Spurs are eager to offload the player and cash in, rather than try and secure a new contract.

However, a replacement has already been lined up for Bissouma, which should soften the blow of losing a first-team player.

Tottenham eye Johnny Cardoso transfer

After a poor season this term, there is no doubt that Postecoglou needs to add to his squad during the summer if he wants to seek change.

Daniel Levy is not a man spends money for the sake of it, and therefore any transfer business has to be shrewd from Spurs.

Bissouma has made 20 Premier League appearances for Tottenham this term, but with his contract coming to an end, it seems Spurs are eager to cash in and replace him.

According to GIVEMESPORT [4 March], influential figures at Tottenham want to cash in this summer while the midfielder still has some valuation.

And the man being eyed up to replace him is Johnny Cardoso, who is expected to leave Real Betis with a pre-agreed clause of £21million to secure his services.

The Lilywhites held initial negotiations over the 23-year-old last summer, which allows them the opportunity to gain his services in the transfer window or profit from a sell-on clause if he goes elsewhere.

However, there is only a short period of time in which to strike this deal, meaning the club have to be ready to pounce if it is the move they want to make.

Postecoglou ready to make changes at Tottenham

If Postecoglou is going to guide his side to a more successful campaign next term, he is right to be thinking about summer business now and there certainly needs to be work done.

It would make sense to offload a player who is entering the final year of his contract, especially given the likes of Marseille, Nice and Crystal Palace are all said to be interested in the midfielder’s services.

This would free up space for Cardoso, who is said to have impressed Spurs after a strong performance against Real Madrid, which is making the North London outfit confident in the investment.

The Lilywhites will continue to monitor his progress as you would expect, but bringing a new option into the club – especially if Bissouma goes – seems a smart choice to make.

Bissouma has put in a lot on the pitch for Spurs this season, but he is also someone who Tottenham do need to be looking at upgrading on if they are serious about improvement.
