Tottenham in talks to sign player who Bukayo Saka ranked above his own Arsenal teammate
Tottenham are finally making big moves in the transfer market.
Many Spurs fans have been disappointed with the lack of signings made by Thomas Frank this summer.
Mohammed Kudus has joined from West Ham, while Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso have made their loan moves permanent. Joao Palhinha has arrived on loan from Bayern Munich, meanwhile.
For many fans, that’s not considered enough to make an impact in the Premier League and Champions League this season.
However, we may be about to witness a huge transfer swoop in the coming days, as Tottenham reignite their interest in Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.

Tottenham are now favourites to sign Eberechi Eze
Spurs have initiated contact with Crystal Palace about signing Eze, and talks are believed to be going well.
It could cost as much as £70million to tempt Crystal Palace into selling, but Spurs are desperate for new players in that position after selling Son Heung-min and losing James Maddison to injury.
If talks continue to develop, Eze could be thrown into the team ready for the start of the Premier League season.
This transfer would taste sweeter for Tottenham fans knowing that they stole Eze from under the noses of their rivals Arsenal.
Arsenal seemed destined to sign Eze earlier this summer, but news of that transfer has gone cold in recent weeks.
Arsenal star Bukayo Saka once named Eze as the player he was most impressed with in England’s Euro 2024 squad. That’s despite his own teammate Declan Rice also being part of the setup, as well as goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
Eze could be the perfect signing to send Tottenham rocketing up the Premier League
Eze has proven that he’s a class act for several years at Crystal Palace.
He and Michael Olise were delivering ‘streets won’t forget’ performances almost every week in 2023-24.
Olise sealed a big move to Bayern Munich that summer, but Eze stayed and took his performances to the next level to help his team win the FA Cup.
He has proven he is capable of:
- Scoring goals on the biggest stage
- Creating chances out of nothing
- Getting the crowd on their feet with a sublime piece of skill
Now, he deserves his big move.
Eze has barely had the chance to show what he can do at the highest level, despite the compliments from his England teammates. A move to Tottenham would give him that chance.
The 2026 World Cup is around the corner, and starring in the Champions League would help England boss Thomas Tuchel stand up and take notice of him.
It’s a transfer that makes complete sense for both parties.
