Tottenham ‘in line for cut-price Tyler Dibling deal’ amid Southampton certainty

Tottenham are a side that require plenty of change during the summer transfer window if they are to improve their standards.

The pressure is mounting on Ange Postecoglou in North London as the Lilywhites only have the Europa League left to play for this season.

Therefore, Tottenham will be looking to the summer with the hope of bringing in players that can change the standard, with Tyler Dibling one name on that list.

Tottenham ready for Dibling deal

It is not yet clear who will be overseeing Tottenham’s summer transfer window, with the pressure building and Daniel Levy said to be close to parting ways with Postecoglou.

However, regardless of who is in charge, it seems as though Southampton gem Dibling will be one man high on the list of transfer targets.

At 19-years-old, this is the ideal time to get a player who has already shown bundles of talent but also has plenty to learn in the top flight.

According to Ryan Taylor for the the Daily Star’s print edition (30 March), although Southampton have put a valuation of £100million on their young star, Spurs could be looking at a cheaper deal by the summer transfer window.

The report states that once Southampton’s relegation to the Championship is confirmed, which now appears a certainty, Tottenham and other interested parties feel they will be able to get Dibling’s services for less than the asking price.

Spurs will still have to battle the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and RB Leipzig to gain the midfielder’s services, though.

Tottenham have issues to sort

Spurs may be looking towards the summer transfer window with a refresh in mind, but until they sort their own issues out, this may have to take a backseat.

Although he has made his excuses throughout the season so far, Postecoglou has been well below the expected levels and his future remains uncertain.

Even if Postecoglou’s side win the Europa League, there remain questions over whether this would be enough to keep him in a job.

There is no doubt that Dibling could be a great buy for his side, especially as a long-term project, and that would be the case regardless of who’s in charge.

However, attracting such a player would require a clear plan going forward, which includes knowing who is going to be at the helm.
