Tottenham ‘giving in’ as late-window exit back on for Ange Postecoglou signing
It could be a busy final week in the winter transfer window for Tottenham.
Whether Thomas Frank will be leading the club into these final few days of the winter window remains unclear, after Tottenham drew 2-2 with Burnley on Saturday.
Many Tottenham fans are calling for Frank to be sacked following the draw at Turf Moor, which was so nearly a defeat had it not been for Cristian Romero‘s 90th -minute equaliser.
Regardless of whether it’s Frank or someone else in charge come the 2 February transfer deadline, there is a widely acknowledged need for new signings to be made at Tottenham ASAP.
Liverpool’s Andy Robertson has been strongly linked with Spurs, whilst on the flip side, we could still see a number of outgoings before the winter window slams shut too.

Tottenham backed to ‘give in’ as clubs circle defender
Sometimes, a means to an end in terms of improving a playing squad can be achieved by getting rid of deadwood.
Tottenham have already moved on from a number of players who they felt didn’t have a long-term future in N17 this month, with Bryan Gil, Brennan Johnson and Manor Solomon all having left.
Not only can it raise precious transfer funds that can be then redistributed on players primed to make bigger first-team impacts, but it can also remove obstacles in the way of young and emerging talents.
This is why it’s been suggested that Tottenham sell Radu Dragusin in order to give 17-year-old centre-back Jun’ai Byfield more opportunities to succeed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium moving forward.

Byfield became Spurs’ youngest ever Champions League player when he made his senior debut in the 2-0 win over Dortmund on Tuesday night, and turned heads with his mature and impressive performance off the bench.
And, this Dragusin exit to allow Byfield to progress scenario could well come to fruition, as a report from Tuttosport on Saturday suggests Tottenham may be ready to “give in” and sell the defender the closer to the deadline we get.
Dragusin is reportedly of interest to AC Milan, after failing to agree a deal with Roma despite looking set for the Italian capital earlier this week.
Milan’s sporting director, Igli Tare, is stated as holding Dragusin in “high regard”, and has already been in contact with the player’s representatives to discuss the frameworks of a deal.

It’s also suggested that Milan will indeed make a move for Dragusin in the final days of this winter window, with the hope being that Spurs will soften their stance.
A loan with an option to buy is detailed as being the expected offer from Milan, but it remains to be seen whether Tottenham will indeed decide to move on from the Romania international.
Radu Dragusin may feel he’s got unfinished business in Italy
Having been plucked from Regal Sport Bucharest by Juventus in 2018, Dragusin began his senior career with Juve.
But, after just a handful of first-team appearances in the 2020-21 season, he spent the next couple of years out on loan with three Italian sides: Sampdoria, Salernitana and Genoa respectively.
He eventually signed for Genoa permanently in the summer of 2023, but spent just 18 months there before joining Tottenham in January 2024 under Ange Postecoglou, who pushed for his signing.
Before coming to England, Dragusin was well on his way to establishing himself as a top centre-back in Serie A, and so he may well be very tempted to head back there to continue his progress, as he’s still only 23.
