Tottenham favourites for Eze transfer as release clause details emerge
Tottenham have maintained a strong interest in Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze.
Thomas Frank is now looking to secure Spurs’ attack ahead of the new season, with Bryan Mbeumo close to following Frank to Tottenham.
Alongside Mbeumo, Tottenham have been pursuing a deal for England international Eze, who they have earmarked as one of their main targets.
Tottenham need a new No.10 after their disappointing Premier League finish and the potential departure of James Maddison following two difficult seasons battling injuries.
Eze, who joined Crystal Palace in 2020, is well-respected for his creativity on the pitch, as one of the most exciting players in the Premier League.
His goal in the FA Cup final marked a historic moment for the Eagles and earned them qualification to the Europa League.

Eze available to sign from Crystal Palace for £68m
Tottenham remain the bookmakers’ favourite for Eze should the 26-year-old leave Selhurst Park this summer.
As per William Hill (17 June), Bayern Munich are next on the most likely destination for Eze, although staying at Crystal Palace is still the odds-on favourite.
Eze has previously expressed a desire to take a step up in his career, and Tottenham’s promise of Champions League football could be a clear incentive, which the 3/1 odds reflect.

Crystal Palace’s Europa League qualification still faces difficulties from UEFA, meaning Eze may look to ensure he secures European football for next season.
A move to Tottenham would follow the similar path of Eze’s previous close counterpart, Michael Olise, whose move to Champions League club Bayern Munich from Crystal Palace transformed his career.
As widely reported, Eze is estimated to have a £68million release clause, which Tottenham would have to trigger or offer an alternative player-plus cash deal.
The release clause could cause a potential drawback for the North London side, especially if £70m is spent on Mbeumo.

Eze’s ability should be priceless for Spurs
Eze has performed exceptionally well in both the Premier League and FA Cup this season, as well as his regular England appearances.
Spurs should be prioritising this deal, despite his high release clause, as his creativity will be valuable as they look to hopefully do well in both the Premier League and Europe next year.
The England international could certainly fit in with the philosophy at Tottenham, and his creative ability is in no doubt.
