Tottenham enter Igor Paixao transfer race after Champions League exploits
Tottenham Hotspur will need to strengthen significantly if they’re to return to the Champions League any time soon.
Ange Postecoglou‘s side are currently languishing deep in mid-table amid a horror run of Premier League form, as well as being knocked out of both the EFL Cup and FA Cup across the past seven days.
As a result, and barring a flawless run of form in their last 14 league games of the season, Spurs must win the Europa League to have any chance of booking their place in the continent’s top-tier competition.
With Champions League qualification looking highly unlikely, the Lilywhites must sign top-tier talent to get back there, including players who are already putting in impressive displays at the highest level.
Igor Paixao displays alert Tottenham in £25m transfer battle
In the wake of Feyenoord’s 1-0 victory over Milan in the Champions League knockout play-offs, winning goalscorer Igor Paixao’s performance was hailed after he ran ex-Spurs defender Kyle Walker ragged.
According to The Sun on 13 February, Paixao is a player Tottenham are already well aware of, with the Lilywhites, Newcastle and Bournemouth all keen on signing the Brazilian winger this summer.
Paixao has already registered 22 goal contributions in all competitions for Feyenoord this term, including a whopping 14 assists, leading the Dutch side to put a £25million price tag on the 24-year-old’s head.

Igor Piaxao transfer would be perfect for Tottenham
Paixao’s display against Milan – and a more than reputable defender in the form of Walker – will only have alerted more clubs to his talents, and could spark a multi-club transfer battle for the wideman.
Having signed for Feyenoord from Brazilian side Coritiba in 2022, Paixao is a player with the creative abilities to do very well indeed in North London; should Spurs win the upcoming race to sign him.
Newcastle and Bournemouth may be having much better Premier League seasons than Postecoglou’s side are at present – sat sixth and seventh in the table – but Tottenham’s allure cannot be ignored.
Should both competing sides miss out on Champions League football next term, Daniel Levy‘s confidence will be boosted that his Lilywhites have enough pulling power to turn Paixao’s head.
With Timo Werner set to return to Leipzig and even Son Heung-min tipped for a summer move away, the left flank of Spurs’ attack – with Postecoglou in charge or not – is wide open for Paixao to take his place.
