Tottenham door opens for Marcus Rashford transfer as Barcelona problems emerge
Tottenham are closely monitoring Marcus Rashford’s difficult situation at Barcelona and have been given some hope of striking a deal.
Thomas Frank wants to be able to achieve success for the Lilywhites in the long term, and to do that, he will need new signings.
Tottenham have come close to signing Rashford in the past, but the Englishman decided to choose Barcelona as his loan destination after leaving Manchester United for a second time in the summer.
Spurs have struggled for goals at different stages of this season already, and it’s clear to see that Rashford would be a welcome addition at some point in the future.
Following the latest updates, Tottenham are “best-positioned” to sign the versatile forward.

Tottenham prepare for 2026 move for Marcus Rashford
Joe Lewis has invested heavily in Spurs since the departure of Daniel Levy earlier this year, and wants to make statement signings.
Rashford is someone who interests the Lilywhites, and his form this season proves that the winger could still be a fantastic player in the Premier League.
- Rashford has played 20 games for Barcelona and has 13 assists in all competitions
- He is on a season-long loan with the Catalonian giants
- Barcelona have an option to make Rashford’s loan deal permanent if they pay £26m
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Tottenham will look to sign Rashford in 2026 if the winger returns to Manchester United.
The Lilywhites are closely monitoring his situation at Barcelona, as the Catalan side face financial difficulties.
Barca are unsure if they will trigger his buy option due to the limited funds available and upgrades on other positions seen as more important, potentially opening the door for Tottenham.

But the interest in Rashford may prove telling on one man’s future at N17.

Thomas Frank may be unsure on Mathys Tel
Tottenham beat Brentford 2-0 on Saturday, in an attacking display which showcased some of the most fluid football seen at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season.
However, Frank opted to start Randal Kolo Muani at left-wing, and Mathys Tel was an unused substitute.
Kolo Muani is naturally a striker, so to see Tel not even get a single minute may speak volumes about what Frank thinks of the wide man.
It’s an interesting situation, and one that is sure to develop further, as there’s a high chance we could see Rashford in a Tottenham shirt in 2026.
