Tottenham confirm signing as official announcement made

Tottenham are making moves in the transfer market as they aim to fight on all fronts next season.

With Champions League football now confirmed, the message is clear for the North London club: they must add quality.

With that in mind, Spurs have made a wealth of decisions on who will be playing for them during the next campaign.

Tottenham sign defender from Ligue 1

Having defeated Manchester United in the Europa League final, Spurs can now chase players of a higher profile.

Their 1-0 victory in Bilbao ended a 17-year wait for a trophy, as Ange Postecoglou guided them to a trophy in his second season.

Much work needs to be done on and off the field, as Tottenham look to improve on a miserable Premier League campaign.

The Lilywhites finished the season in 17th, losing more games in a single term than ever before in their 143-year history.

However, they are looking to make amends, and Fabrizio Romano confirmed (31 May) the permanent signing of Kevin Danso from Lens.

The centre-back spent the second half of the season on loan at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, making 15 appearances in all competitions.

Romano added that Spurs will pay the Ligue 1 club £21.01million after the obligation to buy in his loan deal was triggered.

Elsewhere, the North London side announced that Fraser Forster, Sergio Reguilon, and Alfie Whiteman will depart following the end of their contracts.

Will Danso signing signal the end for Christian Romero at Spurs?

The singing of Danso makes sense, given that Tottenham have not forked out massively.

Indeed, it would be regarded as an astute piece of business if Christian Romero departs North London this summer.

The Argentina international has been vocal about his desire to move to Spain, with Atletico Madrid interested in Romero’s services.

A move to Diego Simone’s team makes sense given the volatile nature of the South American duo.

Of course, losing a player of Romero’s stature would be a loss, but no player is bigger than the club, and it is a chance to bank big money again.

As Tottenham enter a new era, they need hungry players for the fight, and Danso would be just the beginning.
