Tottenham centre-forward confirms he’s now looking for new club

Tottenham could lose multiple stars this summer despite qualifying for the Champions League.

Yves Bissouma has been linked with Leeds United, as the midfielder faces a potential summer exit.

On top of this, Cristian Romero could be weeks away from leaving Spurs amid rumours he is keen on a move to La Liga.

Now that the transfer window has opened, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium faithful are likely to see multiple players leave over the coming weeks.

Jaden Williams set to leave Tottenham after an ‘unforgettable’ 14 years

One player who is now set to leave Tottenham is youngster Jaden Williams.

The 20-year-old has been at the London club since he was six years old and has slowly progressed through the academy.

Williams signed his first professional deal at Tottenham in 2023 and is believed to have high potential.

In the 2024/25 campaign, the 20-year-old netted five times in the Premier League 2 in 16 matches, while also featuring three times in the EFL trophy.

However, the forward has now confirmed on his Instagram (1 June) that he will be leaving Spurs this summer after an “unforgettable” 14 years at the London club.

He wrote: “After 14 unforgettable years, the time has come for me to embark on a new chapter. Since this is just the beginning I thank God for getting me this far. Spurs has been an incredible club and the place that shaped me into who I am today.

“From my first steps onto the pitch to my last training session, every moment has been filled with passion, growth, and unforgettable memories. I’m beyond grateful for the teammates who became brothers, the coaches who believed in me, the staff who supported me day in and day out.

“This club will always be part of my journey. Though I’m moving on, I take with me the lessons, the friendships, and the pride of having worn this badge for so many years.”

Postecoglou pays price for academy neglect

One of the major criticisms of Ange Postecoglou this season has been his unwillingness to try out Spurs’ upcoming academy youngsters.

In the 2024/25 season, the Australian only gave one Tottenham youngster his Premier League debut despite the London club’s awful form.

Williams was tipped to break into the Spurs’ first team this campaign after a good run of form. However, this never happened.

His exit now follows that of youngster Max Robson who is also set to leave Tottenham this summer.

Now, Postecoglou and Tottenham have paid the price as Williams also leaves the London club and will pursue opportunities elsewhere.

Next season, whoever is incharge of Spurs needs to ensure the youth are given a chance to avoid more youngsters leaving without their potential being fulfilled.
