Tottenham ‘to sign USA international in £21m transfer’ as agreement already struck
Tottenham sit just 16th in the Premier League and must have a successful rebuild in the summer transfer window ahead of next season.
Ange Postecoglou appears set for the sack even though the North Londoners are on the brink of reaching the Europa League final, thanks to his side’s poor domestic performances.
Tottenham put themselves in the driving seat with a 3-1 victory over Bodo/Glimt in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final.
While Postecoglou’s future at Spurs remains under strong question, the North Londoners are already putting the groundwork in place for this summer’s transfer window.

Tottenham have an agreement in place to sign Real Betis star
While Spurs are closing in on the Europa League final, La Liga outfit Real Betis could compete in this season’s Conference League final after beating Fiorentina in the first leg of their semi-final on Thursday.
According to GiveMeSport (2 May), Tottenham are poised to sign Real Betis midfielder Johnny Cardoso for a pre agreed fee of £21million.

The report adds that Spurs are set to sign the USA international for around £10m less than his transfer value thanks to their pre-agreement struck in a previous window.

Cardoso could be a top addition for Tottenham
Betis are enjoying a strong season, and sit just one point adrift of the Champions League spots in La Liga before facing Espanyol on Sunday.
Manuel Pellegrini’s men are also enjoying a strong run in the Conference League this term, and could be set to face Chelsea in the final, should they avoid defeat in the second leg of their semi-final with Serie A side Fiorentina.
Cardoso has been central to Betis’ successful campaign and has made 41 appearances across all competitions, including 13 Conference League outings.
His strong performances in La Liga indicate that the midfielder could be ready to make the switch to the Premier League and could be a real asset for Spurs.
Cardoso scored for Pellegrini’s men in a 2-1 win over La Liga title hopefuls Real Madrid on 1 March before scoring in a 2-1 win over bitter rivals Sevilla on 30 March.
The USA international has proven his ability to perform in high-pressure fixtures, and could have what it takes to help Tottenham return to a more respectable Premier League position next term.
