Timo Werner in Tottenham transfer twist after Eintracht Frankfurt development
Timo Werner is not a target for Eintracht Frankfurt amid uncertainty about his Tottenham future, according to fussball.news.
As per a report shared by Lilywhite Rose via X (10 January), Frankfurt are considering Werner as a potential replacement for Omar Marmoush, who is wanted by Manchester City, but the German outlet revealed via their website on 11 January that the news is wide of the mark.
The Bundesliga club have no plans to take him back to Germany as he struggles to impress under Ange Postecoglou in North London.
Timo Werner to leave Tottenham soon
Werner did just enough to earn himself a full season on loan at Spurs after initially arriving on a short-term agreement from RB Leipzig midway through last season.
The North London giants reportedly have the option to make the move permanent for £12.5million, but it would be a surprise if they actually did that.
Werner’s performances this season have left much to be desired, with the Germany international only having one goal to show for his 25 appearances across all competitions.
Furthermore, Ange Postecoglou is already considering adding a new versatile forward to his ranks during the ongoing winter transfer window.
Tottenham are actively pursuing a deal to sign Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain, according to David Ornstein.

The Frenchman’s arrival could see Werner struggle to earn playing time under Postecoglou in the second half of the season.
While it remains to be seen if it is possible for him to be sent back to Leipzig this month, he will definitely not be at the club beyond this season.
