Thomas Frank to brace himself as Manor Solomon set for swift Tottenham Hotspur Stadium return

Manor Solomon finally sealed his Tottenham exit in the latter stages of deadline day.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a move away from N17 since the start of the summer, after he spent the entirety of last season on loan in the Championship with Leeds United.

The deal for Tottenham to loan Solomon out to Crystal Palace collapsed shortly before the cut-off, but a last-minute agreement was quickly struck for him to join Villarreal until the end of the season.

Thomas Frank will have been pleased to find a solution for the Israel international, but he could be about to return to North London quicker than he would have imagined.

Manor Solomon can play against Tottenham on 16 September

Frank had seemingly been prepared to hand Solomon a second chance at Spurs, but ultimately a last-minute decision was made to try and seek a departure.

The player’s camp were pushing for a move that would see him secure regular gametime, something which was far from a guarantee at Tottenham, given their depth in the wide areas.

Solomon will spend the entire campaign away from the Lilywhites, but it has now emerged that he could be set to return way before his loan is due to expire.

Villarreal face a trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Champions League, and it has now been confirmed that the winger will be allowed to turn out against his parent club, according to The Spurs Web via X.

That 16 September clash is already on the horizon, with Solomon’s swift return just a few weeks away.

Thomas Frank must prepare for Manor Solomon impact

It almost feels as though Solomon has been written off by Tottenham, and they will certainly be hoping that it doesn’t come back to bite them on 16 September.

The Villarreal encounter is the opening game of their Champions League campaign, and with that in mind, Frank and Co. must prepare an effective plan to deal with Solomon if they want to hit the ground running in the competition.

It would be typical of Spurs to be undone by a player who is on their books, and as a result, it is vital that the coaching team treat him with the respect that he deserves as a player in preparation for the game.

They should know exactly what to expect from the wideman, and as a result, exactly how to stop him from having an influence on the game.

It will be important that Spurs execute their plan to perfection, or they could face a rather embarrassing night on their hands.
