Son Heung-min disaster: Tottenham make new January transfer promise

Tottenham have made a promise to Randal Kolo Muani that could spell disaster for Son Heung-min, according to Graeme Bailey.

Writing for TBR Football (8 December), he stated that Spurs are in pole position to sign the Paris Saint-Germain forward ahead of the likes of AC Milan, Aston Villa and Manchester United.

The outlet claims that the Lilywhites are close to agreeing personal terms with the French attacker although no deal has been struck with his club.

However, the report suggests that their promise of first-team football could impact Son as the France international prefers to play on the left wing.

Tottenham need a succession plan for Son

Ange Postecoglou needs a succession plan for when the South Korean international eventually moves on from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The 32-year-old has underwhelmed this season but the club still triggered a clause in his contract to extend his stay until next summer (The Standard).

The Australian has backed his star man in the media before the EFL Cup clash with Liverpool (8 January) saying that even Mohamed Salah would struggle in his team at the moment.

Despite not wishing to pile on his inconsistent skipper in public, Postecoglou will be privately concerned about his form this campaign.

It makes sense to bring Kolo Muani to the club with the concerns over Son’s future and the need for more attacking depth in North London.

He will be a better option than the likes of serial flop Timo Werner and the inexperienced Will Lankshear as Postecoglou tries to turn the Lilywhites season around.
