Richarlison ‘in major Tottenham exit twist’ after £5m bombshell

Tottenham have several decisions to make over a number of senior players this summer after a dismal campaign.

Spurs are on track for one of their lowest-ever Premier League finishes, and Ange Postecoglou could be dismissed at the end of the season.

It has been a very disappointing season, and without European football next season, Spurs could be forced into several sales to clear their wage bill.

One underperforming senior player is Brazil striker Richarlison, who has now reportedly made a big decision over his future at Tottenham.

Richarlison future could be determined by Postecoglou sacking

Richarlison has struggled for fitness and form since joining Tottenham for a huge fee in the summer of 2022, and has been linked with a move back to his former club Everton.

However, TBR Football (14 April) have now reported that Richarlison is set to wait until the end of the season to decide whether he will stay or leave this summer.

The key factor in his decision will be the future of Postecoglou. If the Australian stays at the club, then Richarlison is likely to depart.

However, if a new manager comes in, it could save Richarlison’s Spurs career in what is considered a major twist given he looked certain to move on at one point.

Richarlison could depart for low fee

Richarlison has underwhelmed throughout his time at Tottenham, and with just two years remaining on his contract, Spurs could be forced into accepting a low fee, either for a loan or permanent deal.

It was recently revealed that Spurs could even accept a fee as low as £5m for the Brazil international, in order to get his wages off the books.

If Postecoglou does remain at Spurs, then Richarlison should leave given that he does not appear to be part of his plans, but Tottenham will likely have to accept a huge loss on the attacker.

Richarlison is one of several big-money attacking signings who have failed to deliver at Tottenham, and many feel a change of transfer strategy will be needed given the club’s disastrous season with this squad.
