Richarlison exit: Sky Sports reveal Tottenham transfer decision

Tottenham attacker Richarlison will not be leaving the club in January, according to Sky Sports.

The organisation revealed on its transfer centre blog (2 January) that the Brazilian intends to stay in North London.

The report claims that Ange Postecoglou’s side also has no plans to allow the former Everton man to leave in the mid-season window.

Injury issues have restricted the 27-year-old to just five Premier League appearances so far this season.

Postecoglou’s side needs attacking reinforcements in January but the return of the former Goodison Park ace will be a major boost as Spurs seek to climb up the table from 11th place.

It will allow the former Celtic manager to rest the likes of Dominic Solanke, Son Heung-Min and Dejan Kulusevski after a brutal festive period.

His constant injury issues will worry supporters that he will be back on the treatment table again in the near future, with some urging the club to include him in a swap deal for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite.

However, it seems as if he is set to stay at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, so he needs to kick on and justify the £60m fee that brought him to the Lilywhites.

If he cannot, he may find himself surplus to requirements in the summer and could move on without really making an impact at the club.
