‘Richarlison edges towards Tottenham exit’ as fresh transfer update emerges

Richarlison continues to move towards a Tottenham departure amid a new update on his future.

The Brazilian has struggled to replicate the form he displayed at Everton since his move to North London. As a result, it looks as though the clock is ticking down on his stint with the Lilywhites.

Richarlison has been hotly tipped to leave Spurs this summer, amid interest from a range of different clubs.

Thomas Frank seems keen to overhaul the squad in N17, and the striker appears destined to be a fall guy in the Dane’s bid to upgrade on his current options.

Vasco da Gama make contact with Richarlison

Richarlison is attracting interest from Vasco da Gama, with the Brazilian outfit keen to bring the forward back to his homeland this summer.

It is understood that the Spurs star would have to significantly lower his wage demands if he wants to push through the move, such is the disparity between the spending capabilities of the two clubs.

Richarlison’s lofty weekly wage had seemingly cast doubt on the deal.

However, Vasco are now making advancements in their pursuit of the 28-year-old. Richarlison is now believed to have been personally contacted by Vasco president Pedrinho, according to a report from Bolavip (10 July).

The ex-Everton and Watford frontman has spoken with Pedrinho over the phone about a potential deal, and the likes of Fluminense, Flamengo and Palmeiras are also showing an interest.

In addition, there is interest from Saudi Arabia as well, in Al-Ahli and Al-Ittihad.

Richarlison has been a poor signing for Spurs

Richarlison’s Tottenham exit now feels like an inevitability, as he nears the end of what has been a disappointing stint in North London.

The frontman has reached double figures in a single season in just one of his three campaigns with Spurs, and he simply hasn’t lived up to expectations since his move from Merseyside.

Frank seems keen to strengthen his attacking ranks, with the Lilywhites now hoping to snatch Yoane Wissa away from Brentford, and that will only push Richarlison even further down the pecking order.

Tottenham simply don’t have the same level of squad depth as some of the clubs with whom they will be hopeful of competing with next season, and clearing out the likes of the Brazilian to bring in fresh faces could be a key part of their summer.
