Randal Kolo Muani’s first words as a Tottenham player as official announcement made

Tottenham have pulled off a sensational deadline deal for Randal Kolo Muani.

Tottenham have had a strong end to a summer transfer window, which at one point looked worse for wear.

The Lilywhites had to sit through a series of rejections to come out the other end. Johnny Cardoso opted to sign for Atletico Madrid near the start of the window despite Tottenham agreeing on a discounted price for him with Real Betis.

Morgan Gibbs-White chose to extend his stay at Nottingham Forest in a long-drawn-out saga. While the peak of Spurs’ humiliation came when Eberechi Eze favoured a move to Arsenal rather than Tottenham.

But with that all said and done, the Lilywhites have entered celebration mode after a job well done this summer.

Randal Kolo Muani ‘proud’ to play for Tottenham

Tottenham have confirmed that Randal Kolo Muani will spend the rest of the season in North London. He will wear the number 39 shirt for the duration of his stay.

The PSG forward was on the Lilywhites’ radar before, but had a move back to Juventus as a priority. Circumstances have since changed, and with Dominic Solanke set to be out for Tottenham due to an ankle injury, the North London club revived their interest in a centre-forward.

After his arrival on Monday, 1 September, Muani said: “I’m really happy and very proud to be at such a great club. I can’t wait to meet my team-mates, all the fans and to get out on the pitch.

“I know what the coach expects from me. I will fight hard for the shirt, the Club and the fans. I will give everything for this team.”

The striker joins Joao Pahlinha as a Spurs loanee, while Mohammed Kudus and Xavi Simons were signed on permanent transfers. Daniel Levy ought to pat himself on the back for Tottenham’s transfer business this summer.

Kudus and Simons for a combined total of £106million seems like an absolute bargain for the North London side.

Where will Randal Kolo Muani play at Tottenham?

While Kolo Muani played as a striker while on loan at Juventus, he is capable of playing on either wing.

This would come as a huge boost for the Lilywhites after Son Heung-min departed Tottenham for LAFC after a historic tenure in North London.

Thomas Frank has already demonstrated that he is versatile when it comes to setting out formations. He’s a manager who is happy to adjust to his opposition and what the game demands.

As such, we could see Kolo Muani on the left wing alongside Richarlison and Kudus. He could also have shifts as a left-sided striker in a front two, and may also spend time as Spurs’ striker or even on the right wing if Kudus is unavailable.
