Pedro Porro chosen for summer transfer as Tottenham exit beckons
Atletico Madrid want to sign Pedro Porro in the summer transfer window.
Porro has underperformed massively for Tottenham this season, though the same could be said about the overwhelming majority of those playing in North London.
However, that lack of form has not put off Atletico Madrid, with a report from Fichajes stating that the LaLiga outfit have identified him as the player to fill the void at right-back next season.
A move for the Spaniard would allow Diego Simeone to utilise Marcos Llorente in his preferred position in the middle of the pitch.
Porro will have two years left on his Tottenham contract at the end of the current campaign, meaning Spurs would be able to hold out for a substantial fee.

Tottenham firesale possible amid Pedro Porro exit news
Porro isn’t the only Tottenham player to have been linked with an exit from North London, with Cristian Romero also potentially on the chopping block.
He too has been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid, having been the subject of strong interest from the Spanish giants over the last 12 months.
The issues in North London are far more complex than just a lack of form, meaning offloading the players who have underperformed will do little to fix them.
But the entire club need a mentality shift, and the character, or lack of, from the likes of Porro and Romero when faced with adversity has certainly contributed to their downfall over the last few months.
Porro is due to return from injury in March, but whether he can find a place in the starting 11 under Igor Tudor remains to be seen.
Porro exit could hamper Archie Gray severely
Archie Gray has been one of the only positives at Tottenham over the last few seasons.
But that has often come at a cost for the youngster, with Ange Postecoglou forcing him to play at right-back, which is not his position.
Gray is a central midfielder on all accounts, but Porro’s absence has again seen him fill in there, as he did in the latest defeat to Newcastle.
Porro’s exit could see Gray resigned to becoming a right-back full-time in North London, which would be a huge mistake by all involved, and certainly hamper his development even further.
