Nicolas Jackson could join elite group as Tottenham make Chelsea approach
Tottenham are in the market for attacking reinforcements and have made an approach to sign Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson.
Since arriving at Chelsea back in 2023, Jackson perhaps has not received the praise he has deserved, having scored 30 goals in 80 appearances.
Twenty-four of those arrived in the Premier League, showcasing his ability to find the back of the net on a fairly consistent basis.
Now, Tottenham are said to have made an approach to sign the 24-year-old, according to Fabrizio Romano, and if a deal materialises, he would join a very exclusive group of players.

Jackson could become 10th player to represent Chelsea and Tottenham
Dating back to 1961, there have been very few players to have featured for both clubs, mainly due to the rivalry between them.
Jimmy Greaves was the trend breaker, having joined Chelsea in 1957, before moving to Tottenham in 1961, where he would go on to play for nine years.
Some more recent names include Glen Johnson, Scott Parker and William Gallas, who is one of the very few to have played for London’s three biggest clubs.
(Chelsea/Tottenham)
- Terry Venables – (1959/1966)
- Jimmy Greaves – (1957/1961)
- Jason Cundy – (1988/1992)
- Gus Poyet – (1997/2001)
- William Gallas – (2001/2010)
- Glen Johnson – (2003/2005)
- Scott Parker – (2004/2011)
- Carlo Cudicini – (1999/2009)
- Eidur Gudjohnsen – (2000/2010)
If a deal can be struck between Chelsea and Tottenham, Jackson would become the first player to make the move since Parker did 14 years ago, showcasing just how rare this is.

Spurs would benefit from Jackson arrival
Despite often being seen as a flop, Jackson has actually had a very good time at Chelsea, and he would be excellent competition for Dominic Solanke.
The latter is the only out-and-out striker that Thomas Frank has, and addressing that will be needed before the window slams shut on 1 September.
It may prove to be a costly transfer for Tottenham from a monetary perspective, but it would almost certainly be one that pays off.
