Nathan Collins ready to join Frank at Tottenham amid ‘significant’ transfer news

Thomas Frank is expected to target some of his current players at Brentford if he moves to Tottenham.

Things are moving quickly in North London as Tottenham are working to finalise Frank’s appointment.

His excellent work in charge of Brentford over the last seven and a half years has seen the 51-year-old maximise the potential of players that the Bees have been able to recruit.

The Dane will be expected to work closely with the playing squad available to him at Tottenham. However, he has already indicated which signings he would want to his potential future employers.

One of the names Frank has expressed an interest in bringing to Spurs is Bryan Mbuemo, while the latest news reveals centre-back Nathan Collins could also be ready to follow his current boss across London.

Brentford would set a high asking price for Collins

Daniel Levy will already be reticent to bring Mbuemo to Tottenham, given his high wage demands.

However, the forward has been an ever-present for Frank, as has Collins since his arrival at Brentford from Wolves in 2023.

The centre-back featured in every minute of Brentford’s Premier League campaign this year, and as reported by the Hounslow Herald (9 June), is not against the idea of following Frank to Tottenham.

However, the financial package involved could pose a problem, as the Bees would look for “a significant return” on the £22million they paid for Collins.

As such, Cristian Romero, who has been linked with Atletico Madrid, would have to be sold first to free up both a spot in the Spurs squad and the necessary funding to bring Collins to Hotspur Way.

Romero’s future of massive importance to Spurs

The uncertain future of Romero carries huge significance to Spurs’ planning for next season.

When fit, the Argentine has been a central figure to Tottenham, forming a formidable partnership with Micky van de Ven that has been at the heart of almost every good performance in the last two seasons.

Should the vice-captain depart this summer, he will leave huge boots to fill, and Tottenham would likely require more than Collins to replace their star defender.
