Morgan Gibbs-White ‘set for Tottenham’ as Nottingham Forest news emerges

Morgan Gibbs-White could be set to finally sign for Tottenham.

After the arrival of Mohammed Kudus, Spurs looked to follow it up with a big-money move for Nottingham Forest’s Gibbs-White.

A deal was said to have been agreed between the two clubs, though it stalled immediately as Forest made a complaint over the way Tottenham approached.

However, news has since emerged from Nottingham, which could suggest that the move is back on track for Tottenham.

Gibbs-White absent from Forest training

Just yesterday, Tottenham fans were quick to point out the fact that Gibbs-White was wearing white and blue on his return to training, and they will notice something different today.

That is because, according to Forest Review (15 July), Gibbs-White has been absent from training today, though these reports are yet to be confirmed.

Should that be the case, it could serve as a clear indication that a move to Tottenham is back on the cards, though the issues will need to have been ironed out for that to be the case.

Formal confirmation of the situation will be expected today, though there is a sense of optimism now that the deal can be done.

Tottenham could be transformed by Gibbs-White

After an excellent campaign for Forest, there is going to be a lot of interest in Gibbs-White, though it seems as though Tottenham are certainly leading the charge.

His power and direct style of play from midfield is exactly what has been missing in North London, and his creativity will also be crucial.

If this deal can be pushed over the line, it would be another major coup for Thomas Frank, who is slowly starting to assemble a side that should be capable of competing much higher up the Premier League table.
