Mathys Tel transfer: Warnock reacts to ‘Odd’ Tottenham development
Tottenham completed an “odd” deal for Mathys Tel on deadline day, according to Stephen Warnock.

However, the former Liverpool defender does not see where the Frenchman fits into the Lilywhites’ attack when everyone is fit.
Speaking on Sky Sports (4 February), he said: “If he plays more off the left predominately, then that is where Son plays.
“If they are going to play him through the middle, once Solanke gets back, he’s not really going to play through the middle and you’ve got Son on the left.
“So where does he fit into this system, I found the whole transfer window very odd from Spurs.”
Tottenham seal late new transfer before deadline
Ange Postecoglou was desperate for attacking reinforcements given Solanke and Richarlison’s persistent injury issues.
The poor form of Timo Werner made the move for a forward a pressing concern as the deadline edged closer on Monday (3 February).
Spurs are one match away from the EFL Cup final, through to the round of 16 in the Europa League and still have 14 matches left in the Premier League.

There will be plenty of opportunities for Tel to make an impact at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and earn himself a permanent move.
The chance to sign one of the most promising talents in world football does not come around too often so it made sense for the Lilywhites to pounce.
Daniel Levy can be criticised for a lot of things but this move is not one of them, it was a brilliant addition rather than an “odd” signing as Warnock claimed.
In other Tottenham news, a Spurs star is set to undergo surgery and be ruled out for months in a cruel new injury blow.
