Marcus Rashford transfer: Tottenham wage claim made live on talkSPORT
Tottenham will not sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United during the ongoing winter transfer window, according to Jeff Stelling.
Rashford is being heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford before the window slams shut on 3 February after falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim, with Spurs among the clubs interested.
Stelling feels Tottenham fans would welcome the England international with open arms, but do not see the transfer coming to fruition as he thinks the North London giants will be unable to afford his wages.
“There are clubs in England… Tottenham fans would love to have Marcus Rashford, but it’s not going to happen”, Stelling said on talkSPORT (28 January, 7:26 am).
“All the stories are that Tottenham don’t pay the wages other rival clubs do. For his own good, I think he needs to go abroad and out of the glare of the spotlight.”

According to Jay Harris of The Athletic, Rashford earns £325,000-a-week at Manchester United.
If the forward leaves on loan, the Red Devils would want suitors to cover most of his salary, if not all, as they look to complete signings of their own in the final week of the transfer window.
It, therefore, remains to be seen if Tottenham are prepared to shell out such a sum just in wages amid an injury crisis in the squad.
Ange Postecoglou may want to strengthen his attack for the second half of the season, with Dominic Solanke, Brennan Johnson, Richarlison and Timo Werner sidelined with injuries.
AC Milan were interested in signing Rashford, but they are unlikely to be in the race now after signing Kyle Walker from Manchester City.
Therefore, Spurs have a clear chance to win the race to sign Rashford from United, although it is unclear if they will end up making a move.
