Marcus Rashford ‘to take massive pay cut’ after Tottenham transfer development

Tottenham could complete a shock transfer for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.

The England international spent the second half of this season on loan at Aston Villa after being sidelined from Ruben Amorim’s plans, and now a move to Tottenham may be on the cards.

Spurs were linked with Rashford in the winter transfer window, and it isn’t surprising that the North Londoners are entering the race once again.

Tottenham interested in Rashford transfer as pay cut needed for move

Rashford would be ready to take a pay cut to leave Man United amid interest from Tottenham, according to CaughtOffside.

The news outlet reports (16 June) that the Englishman’s £325,000 per week wages could be a hurdle as Spurs eye his signature.

It’s been claimed that the 27-year-old is still out of favour at the Red Devils and an exit could be on the cards, with the North Londoners one of the teams to watch.

Tottenham should look to add a goalscoring threat this summer, and Rashford has shown in the past he’s capable of finding the back of the net.

Son Heung-min could leave Spurs in the coming weeks, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them make a move for the Englishman.

While the 27-year-old showed glimpses of his talent at Villa Park, Daniel Levy will undoubtedly want him to reduce his salary demands significantly to sanction a deal.

The North London outfit will be playing Champions League football next season, which could potentially entice Rashford.

Thomas Frank should be given attacking reinforcements this summer transfer window at Spurs

Thomas Frank wanted Mathys Tel to stay at Tottenham, and the former Bayern Munich star has now joined them permanently.

With the former Brentford boss’ appointment, Bryan Mbeumo has emerged as a target for Spurs, but it remains to be seen whether a deal can materialise.

The Danish manager has a massive task on his hands as fans expect the North Londoners to build on their Europa League triumph.

Now that Ange Postecoglou has won a trophy at Tottenham, Frank’s tenure will arguably be judged by how many trophies he can win.

Levy has changed the manager, but the Spurs chairman must now build a competitive squad that can challenge on all fronts.

While Rashford may not regularly start for the North Londoners, it would make sense to sign the 27-year-old if he agrees to come for a reasonable price.
