Marcus Rashford deal ‘well underway’ as bid submitted amid Tottenham transfer news
Marcus Rashford is one of several big-name stars to be linked with a move to Tottenham this summer.
The Manchester United man spent the second half of last season out on loan at Aston Villa, and he now seems destined to exit Old Trafford on a permanent basis as the new Premier League campaign approaches.
Spurs have shown an interest in Rashford, with the North Londoners one of several clubs both in England and abroad to be tipped to target the 27-year-old.
The doubt surrounding the England attacker’s future has proven to be a fairly lengthy saga so far, but now it seems as though his next move could become clear imminently.

Rashford’s Barcelona move is “well underway”
Tottenham have been linked with a move for Rashford, while Aston Villa have also been keen to sign him permanently and keep him in the Premier League.
However, the player himself has had designs on moving to Spain to join Barcelona, and it now looks as though he could be about to finally get his wish.
A deal is now “well underway” for Rashford to move to the Blaugrana, according to Fabrizio Romano via X (19 July).
The Catalonian giants have sent an official offer to Manchester United, and have held internal meetings about Rashford, after deeming Luis Diaz to be too expensive to pursue.
Rashford move may be a blessing in disguise for Spurs
Rashford’s wage demands were a concern for Spurs, and have been for several clubs who have shown an interest in him since the end of the previous campaign.
The attacker has been sitting on a hefty contract in Manchester, and that has provided a huge obstacle for clubs that have been looking to hand him a way out.
Club | Apps | Goals | Assists |
Manchester United | 426 | 138 | 83 |
Aston Villa (Loan) | 17 | 4 | 5 |
With that in mind, it is arguably something of a blessing in disguise for Tottenham to have seemingly missed out on Rashford.
His quality is undeniable, but his form has been inconsistent at best in recent years, even if his Villa spell did hint at him slowly getting back towards his best.
Daniel Levy and Co. will have been keen to avoid bringing in a player on an extensive amount of money, without guarantees that he would have a major impact.
Now that Rashford seems destined to leave the Premier League, Spurs must feel that they have dodged a bullet to some extent.
