Liverpool player wants Romero at Anfield amid Tottenham exit links
Cristian Romero looks incredibly likely to be leaving the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.
Although the centre-back has had a difficult season, being hindered by injuries throughout, he is attracting interest from multiple clubs.
With a contract running until 2027, if an offer was to come in for his services this summer, it could be an ideal time for Spurs to cash in on the defender.
Romero already stated a desire to play elsewhere and the sacking of Ange Postecoglou could be enough to dictate where the 27-year-old’s future lies.

Alexis Mac Allister wants Romero at Liverpool
Romero may have missed a lot of the season through injury issues, but his performances in the Europa League for Tottenham earned plenty of plaudits.
In fact, he was so good in the game that he did play that the defender has caught the eye of Atletico Madrid ahead of the summer transfer window.

With a big period of change about to get underway at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with the arrival of Thomas Frank, it could be time to part ways.
However, if he does leave North London, Alexis Mac Allister has admitted that he would like to see him stay in the Premier League.
The pair are currently away on international duty for Argentina together, and when asked by TNT Sports (10 June) which of his international teammates he would like Liverpool to sign, Mac Allister replied: “Oh, Cuti (Romero). He’s a player I love.
“The way he speaks and plays, sometimes you feel like he’s too much because he makes everything so easy. He gives me confidence. For me, he’s been the best centre-back in the world for several years.”

Romero to wave goodbye to Tottenham
The Argentine pair may want to play together at club level, but it would be incredibly surprising to see Liverpool make a move for Romero’s services this summer.
With Virgil van Dijk on the books, it’s fair to say that centre-back is not an area where Arne Slot has too much to worry about.
Nevertheless, the possibility of a move to a side like Liverpool will surely be something that excites Romero and after what was a really difficult season, a change of scenery could be what he needs.
The defender has expressed a desire to play in La Liga and with Atletico Madrid expressing interest, it does seem as though that could be a match well made.
Spurs are entering a new period in their history and it could be time to say goodbye to some of those who are part of the old regime.
