Lionel Messi loves ‘incredible’ player Tottenham have now bid for, he’ll fit right in
Tottenham need more attacking reinforcements in the transfer market, after being dealt a huge blow.
James Maddison has been ruled out for a significant period with an ACL rupture, leaving Spurs light in attacking midfield.
With Son Heung-Min also departing, a winger could be targeted, with Tottenham needing additional quality as well as numbers.
Spurs have now reportedly made a bid for one target as they look to step up their transfer business, and this is an exciting one, as Lionel Messi is full of admiration for the player.

Messi praised Spurs target Nico Paz
Spurs have now targeted Como star Nico Paz, with a £34.7million bid said to have already been tabled.
The 20-year-old joined Como from Real Madrid last year and has since become a full Argentina international, and has played alongside stars such as Messi and Julian Alvarez.

Paz’s Argentina debut came in a 6-0 win against Bolivia, in which he assisted Messi for a hattrick, having come off the bench as a substitute.
- Messi currently plays for Inter Miami, but the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner is still a key player for Argentina.
- Paz could join Argentina teammate Cristian Romero at Tottenham.
After the game in October 2024, Messi praised Paz, as per Tribuna, in an encouraging sign for Spurs.
“Nico Paz has an incredible mindset, and that’s why he’s where he is,” he stated.
“Nico has a lot of quality and understands the game perfectly.”
Paz has made three appearances for Argentina, while he has been outstanding in Serie A with 15 goals and assists in 35 games.
Spurs bid for Paz
It has now been reported that Tottenham have made a £34.7 million bid for Paz, but this will have to be increased to over £50m in order to convince them to sell.
Former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas is managing Paz at Como, and he is unlikely to offer his former rivals a discount on one of his most important players.
Paz can play in attacking midfield as well as on the wing, and would be both an immediate replacement for Maddison as well as a long-term one.
The failed pursuit of Morgan Gibbs-White indicated that Tottenham already wanted an attacking midfielder, and the injury to Maddison will mean that this is now a priority to resolve in the coming weeks.
