Levy ‘to play Bissouma masterstroke’ after Leeds and Everton transfer update

Daniel Levy has a decision to make regarding the future of Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham.

Once a managerial call has been made, there will then be plenty of decision to be made about the future of several players in preparation for next season.

One man whose future looks uncertain is Yves Bissouma, who is set to enter the final year of his current contract with Spurs.

Bissouma’s Tottenham future uncertain

Bissouma has seen his game time decrease this season, making just 16 starts in his 28 Premier League appearances.

The midfielder’s presence was felt more in the Europa League, with seven starts from 10 games, including 90 minutes in the final against Manchester United.

As a result of his varying contributions, as well as entering the final year of his contract, there is plenty of uncertainty hanging over his future.

Upon their promotion to the Premier League, Leeds have been credited with interest in Bissouma, in the hope of increasing the top-flight experience in their squad.

According to Ben Jacobs, Everton have also joined the race for his services this summer as he told The Last Word Spurs (2 June): “Bissouma is aware of this volume of interest. Even Everton, I’m told, could come into the mix because they’re going to be losing a couple of midfielders and also looking to strengthen in that area.”

The two Premier League sides are yet to make a move, but Levy may be ready for their approaches.

Levy to drive up Bissouma fee

Regardless of his assistance in the Europa League this term, it seems that Bissouma is unlikely to be the future of the North London outfit.

Therefore, as he prepares to enter the final year of his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, it is the perfect time for Tottenham to cash in.

Furthermore, with two sides interested in his services, Levy can use this to his advantage in negotiations.

If both Leeds and Everton want him enough, then it puts the ball in Tottenham’s court when it comes to choosing which side is worth striking a deal with.

The Spurs chief could easily use the interest in the midfielder from elsewhere in the Premier League to try and drive up his price tag as much as possible.

If done correctly, this could end up being an even stronger deal for the Lilywhites, leaving no doubt over the best course of action.
