Levy ‘set for £10m+ loss at Tottenham’ after transfer exit update

Tottenham are off to a brilliant start to the transfer window so far, as more incomings are expected after Mohammed Kudus’ arrival.

Kudus joined Tottenham for £55million, with new boss Thomas Frank looking to add more firepower to his attack after a tough 2024/25 domestic season.

Morgan Gibbs-White is another player being lined up by Spurs, but legal issues with Nottingham Forest have put the move on hold.

Tottenham could now look toward player sales, with an exit for one forward on the cards.

Bryan Gil is valued at below £10million

Gil’s career in North London hasn’t gone to plan.

The winger joined Tottenham in July 2021 from Sevilla for a fee of £21.6million plus Erik Lamela, and Daniel Levy could be forced to stomach a huge loss on the Spaniard.

Speaking via Last Word On Spurs (17 July), journalist Ben Jacobs said that Gil’s valuation is below £10m.

Gil has failed to make an impact at Tottenham

Celta Vigo and clubs from Turkey, including Besiktas, have reportedly shown an interest.

The 24-year-old could still resurrect his career, but his time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium seems to be fading.

Gil has been sent out on a series of loans during his time at Spurs, including a move to Girona last season, and with only a year remaining on his contract, he could be sold for peanuts this summer.

Gil is worth less than £10m according to Jacobs

Tottenham risk being stuck with Gil

Frank’s side are stuck between a rock and a hard place this summer when it comes to offloading Gil.

If Spurs don’t sell the Spaniard, then they risk pointlessly having him on their books for another year, which will damage both the club and the player.

The winger needs gametime, but accepting offers below £10m would be insulting and hard for Levy to take. If Spurs hold out for a higher fee, it could help them invest in someone else, even if that would just be a potential fringe player.
