Levy ‘must be ready to pounce’ as Tottenham told when Kane return could be on
Tottenham have fallen to new lows since Harry Kane’s departure, currently sitting in 16th in the Premier League and staring at an uncertain future.
Daniel Levy’s gamble to move in a different direction has not paid off, with fans staging multiple protests against Tottenham’s hierarchy throughout the season to show their disdain.
The man Levy brought in to lead the transformation has also fallen short, with Ange Postecoglou’s future now looking more uncertain than ever.
In stark contrast, Kane has been celebrating the major trophy he had been chasing his whole career, finally reaping rewards that his talent has long deserved.

Kane’s Premier League return could be sooner than expected
Kane went to Bayern in search of the eternal glory, but there has always been an underlying expectation that a Premier League return was on the cards.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (05 May, 12:27 pm), Alex Crook suggested that now that the 31-year-old has finally got his hands on some silverware, that process may well be accelerated.
“He’ll do one more year – try and retain the title, try and have another crack at the Champions League, and then I think probably he’ll set his sights on a return to the Premier League and breaking [Alan] Shearer’s goalscoring record,” he said.
Levy must move heaven and earth to ensure that there is only one destination for the former academy graduate and that he brings him back home.
Whilst all within Tottenham’s camp were well aware of Kane’s importance, the void he left on the pitch has been stark, with Dominic Solanke and Richarlison unable to come close to his goalscoring prowess.
Player | League appearances | League goals | League Assists |
Harry Kane | 29 | 24 | 9 |
Dominic Solanke | 25 | 8 | 3 |
Richarlison | 13 | 4 | 1 |
Another attribute in short supply at Tottenham is the winning mentality that Kane has in abundance, and one that Spurs could really use in their crucial upcoming Europa League tie against Bodo/Glimt.
Levy must pull on heartstrings
Generational players like Kane don’t come around very often, let alone homegrown and certainly not at Tottenham, who in the last five have only truly seen Mikey Moore make a telling impact on the first team.
It’s a rarity, and Kane was at the centre of propelling the North London club into the upper echelons of English football and deserves to be rewarded accordingly when he chooses to come back.
There will be a host of clubs vying for the England captain’s signature, but Levy must ensure he capitalises on their history together and Kane’s predetermined clause to secure an emotional return.
